COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Tigers fell to Tennessee by a score of 2-1 in double overtime. Mizzou has fallen 2-1 in three-straight matches, allowing a goal in the last five minutes each time.
Mizzou got on the board early with a back-and-forth play from Milena Fischer and Julissa Cisneros. Fischer played the ball wide to Cisneros, who found Fischer in the box. Fischer fired it over the keeper’s head into the top left corner of the goal to put the Tigers up 1-0 in the ninth minute.
Tennessee was able to respond quickly, with Taylor Huff finding Jaida Thomas to level the match in the 17th minute.
In the 68th minute, Tennessee had appeared to break through with a goal, but it was disallowed after it was determined that the ball had hit the official in the buildup.
Neither side was able to break through in regulation. The Vols had the bulk of the chances in the first 90 minutes, as they led the shot count 11-5 with most of the play in the Tiger’s defensive half.
TURNING POINT
Tennessee was able to get a few chances in the first overtime period. Just three minutes in, McKenna Sheehan was forced into a save to keep the game going. With seconds to go in the first overtime period, Thomas was able to get a good look at the Mizzou goal but sent it over the crossbar.
In the second overtime period, the bulk of possession remained with the Vols. Tennessee broke through in the 106th minute, as Mackenzie George played a cross into the box and Hannah Zaluski tapped it home.

Milena Fischer scored her fifth goal of the season to remain among the top scorers in the SEC.
Julissa Cisneros recorded her fourth assist of the season.

Tennessee was caught offside 11 times in the match. Mizzou was not offside even once.
