Facebook is down. Instagram, WhatsApp, and other services such as Messenger and Facebook Workplace that are part of the parent company are also being effected in a global outage.
Currently, the reason for the outage is unknown. When trying to access Facebook or one of its’ related websites, a DNS error appears. A DNS, or Domain Name System, brings internet users to their requested web pages. This means the error is with Facebook, not your computer, phone, or other device.
The Facebook Twitter account sent this message:
We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
