28-Year-Old Booked in Baxter County After Multi-County Chase

Baxter County, MO. – A man from Pineville in Izard County has been arrested and detained within the Baxter County Detention Center after he led Law Enforcement on a chase through multiple counties.

The chase began when Arkansas State Trooper Philip Gonten attempted to pull over a driver who had driving through a red light on Highway 5. Gonten, a second trooper, Remi Lively, and an Izard County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to stop the driver in multiple instances without success.

They then initiated a PIT maneuver that caused the driver to steer into a ditch. Gonten was then able to pin the suspects vehicle after continued struggle.

The driver, identified as Joe Lee Lynn was then taken into custody on a $20,000 bond, with charges including Felony Fleeing from Arrest. Lynn was also intoxicated at the time of the event.
