February 14th, 2025- Granny gained her angel wings. We all know her Valentine was waiting at the golden gates of Heaven.
Evelyn was born in Mtn. View, MO. to Verl and Ollie (Daugherty) Lee on September 8, 1943. She graduated high school and then put herself through college while raising her two daughters, Patty and Stevie.
She then married the love of her life, David Freed on June 17th, 1982. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory until its closing. She spent her life living to the fullest, following her kids, grandkids and great grandkids around. She loved fishing, camping, gardening, dancing, country music, but most of all going to any and all sporting events the kids were in. She taught us ¨Families that play together- stay together¨
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Verl and Ollie Lee; husband, David Freed; two brothers, Joe Kenneth Daugherty and Jack Lee; two sisters, Verla Kay Pulliam and Carolyn Chowing; son-n-law, David Skaggs; brother-n-law, Virgil Pulliam and one great-grandson, Cylis Stewart. She is survived by her two daughters, Patty Skaggs and husband,Danny and Stevie Skaggs of Cabool, MO; two sons, David Freed, Jr. and wife, Angie of Springfield, MO and Jimi Freed and wife, Shawn of Michigan; 6 grandkids, Michael Stewart and wife, Spenser of Mt. Grove MO. Clint Stewart and wife, Sandy, Lacy Sigman and husband, Ryan of Cabool, MO, Danny Deland and wife, Jackie, MO, Ethan Skaggs and wife, Kaila and Wynston Skaggs and girlfriend, Adrian Fleetwood of Cabool, MO; 28 great-grandkids( WHO SHE ADORED) Rebecca, Requel, Auna, Dylan, Keatyn, Chloey, Cathryn, Cayleb, Caelyn, Koby, Brendon, Izzy, Zadyn, Noah, James, Jaxon, Jazmyn, Johnathan, Faith, Manny, Anna, Jadyn, Paloma, Bradyn, Hoyt, Noah, Paisley and Wynona; 2 great-great granddaughters, Athena and Renley; 3 sisters Wilma and husband, Richard of Bolivar MO, Debbie and husband, David Crider of Henderson AR and Wanda and husband, Paul Freeman of Cabool, MO; one brother, Jeryl and wife, Vicki Lee of Casper, WY; along with many nieces, nephews and lots of other loved ones. She will be missed by many, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
