Just after midnight a two vehicle accident occurred on Highway 5, five miles North of Ava when a 2015 Dodge 3500 driven by a 58-year-old Eldridge Missouri man pulled from a side road and was struck in the rear by a speeding 2017 Dodge 2500 driven by a 31-year-old Ava man.
A passenger in the vehicle that was struck, a 28-year-old Eldridge woman, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a Springfield hospital for treatment.
