From Cattle to Crafts—Izard County Fair Week Starts August 11!

IZARD COUNTY, Ark. — The 2025 Izard County Fair returns August 11–17, promising a fun-filled week of competition, community, and celebration of local talent at the Izard County Fairgrounds. With events ranging from horse shows and beef cooking contests to 4-H auctions and youth showmanship, this year’s fair offers something for everyone.

Registration Timeline

Fair participants can register through ShoWorks online starting July 1, with the deadline to register by July 31. A manual registration assistance session will be held on Saturday, August 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Volunteers will be available to help those with computer issues.

Daily Event Highlights

Monday, August 11

• Horse Check-In: 3:00 – 5:00 PM (Negative Coggins required)

• Horse Show: 6:00 PM

Tuesday, August 12

• Creative Arts Check-In: 12:00 – 7:00 PM

• Livestock Check-In (Cattle, Goats, Sheep & Swine): 4:00 – 7:00 PM

• Food Prep, Imadean Floyd Contest, Cut Flowers Check-In: 5:00 – 7:00 PM


Wednesday, August 13

• Food Prep & Cut Flowers Final Check-In: 8:00 – 9:00 AM

• Creative Arts Judging (Closed to Public): 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• Creative Arts Building Open: 3:00 – 7:00 PM

• Dairy Cattle Show: 6:00 PM

• Dairy Goat Show: Immediately Following Cattle Show


Thursday, August 14

• Creative Arts Building: Open 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Senior Citizens Lunch: 11:00 AM (Sponsored by White River Area Agency on Aging)

• Sheep Show: 4:00 PM

• Goat Show: Immediately Following Sheep Show

• Old Timers Livestock Show: After Goat Show

• Beef Cooking Contest Drop-Off & Judging: 5:00 PM & 6:00 PM

• Poultry Testing: 4:00 – 6:00 PM

• Poultry & Rabbit Check-In: 4:00 – 6:30 PM

• Poultry & Rabbit Judging: 7:00 PM (Barn closed during judging)

• Late Check-In for Cattle & Swine: 4:00 – 6:30 PM
(Note: Late check-ins will not be eligible for Herdsman or Weight Gain Awards.)


Friday, August 15

• Swine Show: 9:00 AM (Early start due to heat)

• Fat Hogs Judging: Immediately After Swine Show

• Creative Arts Building Open: 3:00 – 8:00 PM

• 4-H Poultry Auction: 5:00 PM (Poultry Barn)

• Cookie Jar Auction (Extension Homemakers): Following Poultry Auction

• Beef Cattle Show: 6:00 PM

• Old Timers Show: Follows Beef Show


Saturday, August 16

• Creative Arts Building: Open 2:00 – 9:00 PM

• Best of the Best Showmanship: 9:00 AM

• Fat Hog Auction: 12:00 PM (Noon)

• Livestock Awards: 5:00 PM

• Livestock Release: Time TBD

Sunday, August 17

• Creative Arts Check-Out: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
