Man Facing Theft Charges After Using Ex-Employers Account

Ava, Missouri – A man with a prior felony theft conviction is now facing new charges after allegedly making unauthorized purchases using a former employer’s customer account at multiple O’Reilly Auto Parts locations across several states.

According to a report filed by Officer Wright (DSN 434) of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were dispatched on July 17 at approximately 9:14 a.m. to the O’Reilly Auto Parts store in Ava, Missouri, following a report of theft and fraud.

The store manager informed responding officers that the O’Reilly corporate office had alerted him to a pattern of suspicious purchases tied to a specific customer account number. The suspect, known to employees as “Clint,” had reportedly visited the store on several occasions, using the account to obtain auto parts but refusing to sign invoices as required. Similar activity involving the same individual and account number had been reported at O’Reilly locations in other states.

Investigators identified the suspect as Marcus Lynn Woodall after matching a photograph taken by an Ava store employee—showing the man next to a 2007 Chevrolet truck—to a known photo of Woodall. Employees confirmed the man known as “Clint” was indeed Woodall.

Woodall reportedly used the vehicle’s Vehicle identification number,  to acquire compatible parts. The account he used, was traced to Car Mart, located at 120 N. Glenstone Ave in Springfield, Missouri.

When contacted, the Car Mart manager confirmed Woodall had previously worked at that location and would have had knowledge of the company’s account number. However, the manager stated that Woodall had no permission or authority to use the account for any purchases. Invoices provided by the manager totaled $638.98 in unauthorized charges.

Further investigation revealed that Woodall has a prior felony conviction for Theft of Property ($1,000–$5,000) from Miller County, Texarkana, Texas. He was found guilty on March 8, 2024, in case number 2023550.

He is being charged with Forgery and Stealing.
