West Plains, MO. – Friday afternoon a driver in West Plains experienced a scare when their vehicle stopped functioning and caught fire. This happened in the 1pm hour on East Main Street.
The vehicle, a 2003 Honda Civic, was pulled off into the parking lot of Mugs Bar, and West Plains Fire quickly responded to extringuish the blaze.

The vehicle was a total loss, but no injuries were reported. The scene was cleared at around 2:30.
The origin of the fire is thought to have been near the battery of the vehicle.
