Sheila Diane Wright, daughter of Jack and Diana (Lewis) Locust, was born November 20,1952 in Holdenville, Oklahoma and passed away at home on September 29, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She lived in Oklahoma and then Texas until the age of 11, when she moved to Arizona. She graduated from Globe High School in 1971 and then received her associate’s degree in business from Eastern Arizona College two years later.
She was married to George Cutter and had a son, Rory. After college, she worked in the Inspiration Copper Company for almost 10 years.
She surrendered her life to Jesus in 1977, and this experience changed her life forever.
She met the love of her life, William Wright in 1982 and they were married in March of 1983. Their family grew over time to include Rory, Bethany, William, Kara, Noelle, Jonathan, and Chloe.
Her faith was the rock upon which her life was centered. She was heavily involved with her church in Arizona, especially in music and worship, singing, playing guitar, piano and writing music, and performing in a Christian band for 25 years.
After her marriage to Bill, she dedicated her life to her home and her children. Not only did she spend time managing her husband’s practice in Arizona, but she also taught their four youngest at home from kindergarten through high school.
Sheila and her husband were also involved in world missions, traveling to Malaysia, the Philippines, Kenya, and Uganda–performing music and assisting in medical missions.
She moved to Houston, Missouri with her family in 2002. She continued as a dedicated wife, mother, and teacher. Music was the joy of her life, whether listening, singing, playing or worshipping. She attended Wellspring Church in Houston, helping with administration and playing the piano as part of the worship team.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Diana Locust, her brothers Gary and Rodger Locust and grandbaby Clover.
She is survived by her husband William, her brother Jack Locust, and her seven children: Rory Cutter, Bethany (spouse David) Warkentin, William (spouse Danielle), Kara, Noelle (spouse Clayton) Clymer, Jonathan (spouse Devyn), and Chloe. Honorary daughters include Chevonne Fogle and Vanessa Kaye, along with thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous close friends all of whom she considered to be family.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in Sheila’s memory be made to Compassion International
