Catherine “Marie” Hoggard, 81, of West Plains, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. Born in Hollister, Missouri, on January 18, 1944, she was the beloved daughter of Robert Abel McWorkman and Clara Bell Walker McWorkman.
Marie devoted her life to caring for others, serving as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with compassion and dedication. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession into every aspect of her life.
She was a proud mother to three children: Laura Jenkins of Koshkonong, MO; Heather Holmes of West Plains, MO; and Charles Hoggard of Ash Grove, MO. Her legacy continues through her thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Marie found happiness in music and creativity. She loved playing the piano, bowling, sewing, and singing with the Sweet Adeline Chorus. Her faith was a guiding light, and she was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church in West Plains.
Marie is survived by her children, Laura Jenkins of Koshkonong, MO, Heather Holmes of West Plains, MO, and Charles Hoggard of Ash Grove, MO, thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one brother Don McWorkman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Clara Bell McWorkman, brother Robert McWorkman, sisters Jean Brickle and Linda Riley and nephew Jordan Riley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Historic Post Office in West Plains, Missouri, hosted by her loving family. The Southeastern Missouri Nursing Guard will honor Marie’s life and service with a special tribute.

Marie’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
