The West Plains Zizzer boys soccer team had a preseason goal to get one district win, as none of these guys freshman through seniors had ever experienced a district win, but flipped the script on that with a dominant win over Desoto 6-2 Zizzers scored in the first 5 minutes of the game off a bomb from Reed Cobb (who finished with 2 goals) and scored again 3 minutes later off the foot of Hudson Cox, who finished with 4 goals. Up next for the Zizzers in class 3 district 1 soccer the #1 seed Cape Notre Dame Thursday at 5 PM at Cape Central HS.

Zizzer Cross Country state send of Thursday Nov 6th at 9am. The team will drive by West Plains High School then stop at West Plains Elementary to greet students from there they’ll head to court square down Washington Ave, on to Broadway and merge onto Porter Wagoner. The Zizzer boys have won state 14 times in cross country, and the Zizzer girls have won 14 state championships in cross country, Boys won it all last year and the girls finished 2nd. The meet will take place in Columbia at Gans Creek Cross Country Course this Friday.
Give Local First two-person 18 hole golf scramble will be held at North Terra Golf Course Friday Nov 7th with Tee times of 10am only. Prizes on every hole and two side games cost is $200.00 per team. Proceeds benefit The Howell County Special Olympics. Sign your team up at North Terra Golf Course in West Plains.
