Marion County Sheriff Identifies Person of Interest in Death

YELLVILLE, Ark. — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman believed to be the Yellville resident who was reported missing by family members on November 13, 2025.

According to Sheriff Gregg Alexander, a deputy was dispatched Thursday morning to a residence on Broad Rock Lane after relatives reported the woman missing. The deputy found neither the woman nor her vehicle during the initial visit. Additional checks were made mid-morning and later in the evening. During those follow-up visits, the deputy met with friends and family and eventually entered the residence to search for the woman, but she was not located. A missing persons bulletin was issued for both the woman and her vehicle.

On Friday morning, investigators were preparing a search warrant for the property when a family member contacted the sheriff’s office and reported finding the woman’s body in a wooded area near the residence.

Investigators responded to the scene, executed a search warrant, and spent much of Friday searching the home and surrounding property while collecting evidence. The woman’s name is being withheld pending autopsy results that will confirm her identity and determine the cause and manner of death.

Sheriff Alexander said investigators have conducted several interviews and continue to follow leads. They also determined that the victim’s vehicle was missing from the residence and is believed to have been stolen. The vehicle, a maroon 1999 Chevrolet Malibu with Arkansas license plate AWG-63J, has been entered into a national law enforcement database as stolen.

Investigators have identified a person of interest in the case. The sheriff’s office is seeking to interview Jimmy Jay Liverett, a white male born March 25, 1976. Liverett previously lived with the victim prior to the discovery of her body.

The Marion County Coroner took custody of the body at the scene. It will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Section of the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information that may help the case is asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 870-449-4236.
