The Cabool Senior Center Board of Directors met during the recent government shutdown and voted to purchase $50 gift cards to gift to seniors 60 years and over and who also are receiving SNAPbenefits. About half the Town & Country/Country Mart cards have already been distributed. However, the Board of Directors are offering another day, December 1, 2025 from 10;00 am – 2;00 pm for affected seniors to have the opportunity to come to the center and receive a $50 gift card to assist with food expenses resulting from the shutdown.
Individuals 60 and older interested in participating in the program will need to come to the Cabool Senior Center in person at 910 Cherry Street, Cabool, Missouri on Monday, December 1, 2025. Those individuals will need to show proof of ID (verifying age) and their SNAP card (proof of program participation). NOTE: This event is only for those community members who have not already received a gift card from the center.
