The Liberty Eagles Boys Basketball Team traveled back to Pleasant Hope on Thursday Night, January 15th, 2026 after their 80-27 win over The New Covenant Warriors on Tuesday Night. Eagles tonight facing The (10-3) Blue Eye Bulldogs
1st Quarter: The Blue Eye Bulldogs control the tip but lose the ball out of bounds. Eagles will play a 1-3-1 zone and Alex Tune with a shot up and in for 3 as Liberty makes it on the board first. Rebound by Blue-Eye and shot up and lost by Braxton Bell.
Liberty tries for another shot on the next possession but lost up and good by Bell. Back to Liberty as the continue to play zone and finally a stop, a three by Carter Ellett.
A foul and now Braxton Bell will shoot two, this starts to up the pressure as they also move out to a zone on defense.
Blue-Eye did very well controlling the ball in the early going, but defensively; Liberty is doing better overall at shooting the basketball as they continue to hold the lead at the end of one, 22-12.
2nd Quarter: Blue Eye’s main threat continues to be their ball handling. So far; they have only turned over the ball twice.
Carter Ellett and Parker Tune make two more threes as Blue Eye has not scored with 6:00 to go. This up until Bell makes another three with the Score, 33-15
Another three as Liberty makes another turnover, Senior Riley Snowden makes another three. Rebound by Ellett and shot up and in for two. 34-18 with under 4:30 to go.
Draydon Wells with the next four points for the Eagles still have good looks at shooting the three. But still are having some issues trying to guard, mainly Braxton Bell and Brayden Bettlach for the Blue-Eye Bulldogs.
HALFTIME- Liberty Eagles: 40/ Blue-Eye Bulldogs: 22
3rd Quarter: Liberty seems to get to a slower start as Blue-Eye is doing a good job of beating them down the timeline. Only one point scored at the free throw line as Draydon Wells shoots 1-2 at the line. Braxton Bell scores a three for the Blue-Eye Bulldogs.
Liberty refuses to get a shot off on at least for trips down the timeline in the first four minutes.
Finally, at two by Blayne Altermatt. By this point, Blue-Eye has made a few more turnovers. Nonetheless, Liberty is not playing with hardly any of the same intensity they played with in the first half. Parker Tune also making it in for a two on the next possession, forcing another turnover for the Bulldogs.
At the end of three, Liberty holds the lead 54-33
4th Quarter: Liberty goes back to getting the same looks at threes as Cooper Holden and Parker Tune score two more threes for Liberty & Bell and Snowden with two more threes for Blue–Eye.
Blue-Eye is playing good defense but making very shallow shots inside the paint.
