Willow won the tip and immediately opened up with their shooting game scoring a 3 on the first possession. There wasn’t a lot of scoring in the 1st quarter, but the Lady Bears still had the game in control over Thayer maintaining a reachable lead. Willow had some great steals in order to get some easy buckets to increase their lead. Both teams were physical with each other making it a rough game on both sides. Thayer started to come back at the end of 1st quarter getting into their game. 1st quarter ends 16-9 with the Lady Bears holding a nice lead but with Thayer right behind them. The Lady Bears had trouble with some turnovers In the 1st half, making it easy for Thayer to come back. Thayer had a strong opening to the second quarter going on a 9-0 run to steal the lead from Willow. Thayer started to establish their game nearing the end of the half, but Willow fought back hard. The Bobcats lead at halftime 31-23, a high-scoring quarter to end the half.
The second half started with willow hitting a nice 3 to immediately bring down the lead. The bobcats were a little cold in their shooting game coming out of halftime. The bobcats shot the 3-ball very impressive this game. Willow slowly started to cut the lead down to only a one possession game while Thayer was trying to find their groove back. Willow called a timeout to try to discuss how to get back in the game. Willow made some silly fouls to send Thayer to the line to further increase their lead. Bobcats lead 51-36 at the end of the 3rd quarter, building a major lead. The lady bears were making shots but Thayer was just making more, it seemed like every shot Thayer took just went in. the 4th quarter just went thayer’s way, they played great defense against the lady bears and were making good shots. The bears tried calling a timeout to discuss how they can come back nearing the end of the game. The lady bears had multiple players foul out, a clear factor for why they were behind. The bobcats win with a score of 66-55 over the lady bears.
