Baseball Hall of Fame

Carlos Beltrán and Andruw Jones were elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026. The announcement came Tuesday from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, the group of veteran journalists who vote on the sport’s most prestigious honor.

Beltrán cleared the bar comfortably in his fourth year on the ballot, earning more than 84 percent of the vote — well above the 75 percent threshold needed for induction — and silencing years of debate about his candidacy. Jones, one of the game’s most feared defensive center fielders, finally got over the hump in his ninth year of eligibility, just clearing the threshold with roughly 78 percent support.
