MOUNTAIN HOME, AR – The Baxter County Library Foundation announced today that it has reached its fundraising goal for the Library Hill Trail thanks to a generous gift from Kyle and Lynn McAlister.
The McAlisters’ recent donation helped the Foundation reach its fundraising goal, which represents approximately 20% of the total cost of the Library Hill Trail project. The trail will be a multi-use walking and biking path designed to improve access to the Library while encouraging wellness, safety, and community connection. Their total support exceeded $10,000 and included a final contribution that brought the campaign to its goal.
“We’ve been long-time supporters of the library, and we really like the idea of connecting a visit to the Library with movement and time outdoors,” said Kyle and Lynn McAlister. “The Library Hill Trail is something everyone in the community can use, and we’re glad to help make it happen.”
The Library Hill Trail will loop around the Library campus and connect to nearby trail systems, creating a welcoming space for walking, biking, and gathering. The project aligns with the Library’s mission to serve as a welcoming and accessible resource for the entire community.
Reaching the fundraising goal allows the project to move forward as planned, with construction expected to begin once final coordination with the Arkansas Department of Transportation is complete.
The Baxter County Library Foundation expressed gratitude to the McAlisters and to the many community members who contributed to the campaign, noting that the project represents a shared investment in both public space and public learning.
