Terry Lee Lawson, 66, of Mountain View, Missouri, passed away on March 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family who meant everything to her. Terry was born on April 8, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent her life sharing kindness, creativity, and a generous spirit with everyone she met.
Terry had a gift for seeing beauty in the world. She was an incredibly talented artist whose creativity brought color and life to everything she touched. Some of her happiest days were spent by the river, where she loved the peaceful sound of the water and searching along the banks for beautiful rocks that others might pass by. To Terry, even the simplest things in nature held wonder.
Those who knew Terry also knew she had a playful side. She loved sitting around a table with family and friends playing cards, and she was famous for being nearly unbeatable at a game of rummy. The laughter, teasing, and stories shared during those moments were some of the memories her family will cherish most.
But more than anything, Terry will be remembered for her enormous heart. She was one of the most giving people you could ever meet. If someone needed help, comfort, or simply someone to listen, Terry was always there. She had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and cared for, and she gave of herself freely without ever expecting anything in return.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. Terry was a proud and loving mother to Kevin Lawson and Jill Cook, and her love only grew stronger as she became a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, Wyatt Pelate, Toxey Pelate, Blaine Lawson, Addyson Rutledge, Jaycee Lawson, Payton Lawson, and Allissah Cunningham, who brought endless pride and happiness into her life.
She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Sharon Hall, Vicki Johnston, Joey Doyle, Reda Foster, Freda Carr, along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were brighter because of her presence.
Terry was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ethel Doyle; her father, Roy Campbell; her brother, Jimmy Brooks; and her son, Brian Lawson.
In the years to come, Terry will live on in the stories her family tells and in the hearts of her grandchildren, who loved her so dearly. They will remember her laughter, warmth, and the way she could make any moment special. Perhaps one day they will sit beside a quiet river, pick up a beautiful stone, or shuffle a deck of cards and smile, thinking of her. In those moments, they will feel her love with them-steady, comforting, and everlasting.
Terry’s life was a reminder that the greatest legacy a person can leave behind is love. And in that way, her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved he
