U.S. Beats Dominican Republic 2-1 to Reach Third Straight World Baseball Classic Title Game

Team USA beat the Dominican Republic 2-1 in a tight World Baseball Classic semifinal, punching its ticket to the championship game. 

Paul Skenes started and helped shut down the powerful Dominican lineup, while solo home runs from Gunnar Henderson and Roman Anthony provided all the offense the U.S. needed.

The game stayed tense until the end, with the American bullpen holding the lead and a controversial called strike ending the Dominican comeback attempt.

Team USA will now face the winner of the Venezuela vs. Italy semifinal in the World Baseball Classic final.
