A Howell County man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he assaulted a woman and endangered three children during a domestic disturbance on May 9. According to the probable cause statement, Deputy Tyler West reported that Zachary Lee Carver allegedly bit and pushed the victim to stop her from leaving their shared home.
The probable cause statement says Carver then displayed a knife in front of the victim and their three children and threatened to kill them, adding that he also threw a broken broomstick at the victim while she sat in her vehicle. One child was reportedly grabbed by the neck and thrown onto a bed. No injuries were reported.
Deputies located and arrested Carver, placing him on at the Howell County Jail on a $25,000 Bond. He is accused of Domestic Assault 3rd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Abuse or Neglect of a Child, and Kidnapping 2nd Degree.
Deputy West wrote that Carver posed “imminent danger of serious physical and emotional injury” to the victims and requested an arrest warrant.
