Mammoth Spring, AR. – The Mammoth Spring Band Program is excited to announce its achievements after participating in the Regional Junior High All-Region Band auditions. This year marked the first time for the school’s junior high students to audition.
Three students earned spots on the All-Region Band:
Seth Ray – 1 Band, 3 Chair
Alyza English – Alternate
Layla Price – Alternate
Band Director Blake LaRue expressed his pride in every student who
auditioned, saying that it takes courage for the young musicians to
perform in front of unfamiliar judges. “Whether they placed or not, I am
incredibly proud of each of them. Stepping into that audition room shows
their strength and willingness to grow.”
These students will now represent Mammoth Spring in the Regional
Junior High All-Region Band concert this January at Arkansas State
University in Jonesboro, Ark, performing beside top musicians from the
region.
The band department expressed its thanks to the Mammoth Spring
community for its continued support of music education and arts at
the school. “Our students’ accomplishments are possible because this
community believes in what we do,” LaRue said.
