Izard County Sheriff’s Office Releases 2025 Year-End Report

IZARD COUNTY, Ark. — The Izard County Sheriff’s Office has released its year-end activity report for 2025, outlining law enforcement activity, jail operations, and administrative collections throughout the year, according to Sheriff Charley Melton.

During 2025, dispatchers handled a total of 4,715 calls for service across Izard County. Deputies completed 904 incident reports and responded to 205 motor vehicle accidents during the year.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that 108 new felony cases were filed with the Izard County Circuit Clerk’s Office in 2025. Deputies also served 652 civil papers, including court-ordered documents such as summonses and subpoenas.

Jail operations remained steady throughout the year, with staff booking a total of 508 inmates. The county jail maintained an average daily population of 35 inmates.

In addition to enforcement and detention duties, the Sheriff’s Office collected $208,324.25 in restitution for crime victims, along with fines and fees, through its office administration during the year.

Sheriff Melton noted that the report reflects the continued workload of deputies, dispatchers, jail staff, and administrative personnel serving residents throughout Izard County.
