MELBOURNE, Ark. — The Melbourne Fire Department Auxiliary is giving the community a chance to win exciting prizes while supporting a critical cause. Proceeds from the group’s latest raffle fundraiser will go toward the purchase of new rope rescue equipment for the Melbourne Fire Department.
Two prize packages are up for grabs. Raffle 1 includes a Grizzly cooler filled with spices and $200 worth of meat, with tickets available for $20 per chance. Raffle 2 features two heated stadium seats, four portable batteries, and two school spirit sweatshirts, with tickets available for $10 per chance.
The winners will be drawn during the Movie in the Park event on Sept. 27 at the Walking Trail near Ozarka College, off of Haley Street in Melbourne. Supporters do not have to be present to win but will be responsible for picking up their prize.
Chances may be purchased from Auxiliary members or by messaging the group directly on the Melbourne Fire Department Auxiliary Facebook page. Payment options include Cash App and PayPal, making it easy for community members to join in.
Organizers say the raffle is not only a chance to win useful and fun items but also a way for the community to directly support the safety and preparedness of their fire department.
“Every ticket purchased helps us put better tools in the hands of our firefighters,” the Auxiliary said in a statement, thanking sponsors and community members for their continued support.
