Two Arrested in Relation to Area Boat Dock Thefts

Mountain Home, AR. – The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has announced that two men have been arrested in relation to a string of thefts around area boat docks that started in early July.

The investigation began on July 12, when unlawful entry and thefts were reported from Cranfield, Lake Norfork, and Panther Bay Marina’s. Thousands of dollars worth of equipment were reported as stolen.

Three people were identified due to video footage of the scene, and one of them was identified after they used a credit card to purchase a bottle of water at a local store. Two of the three men were identified as Kansas residents who were involved in another string of marina theft cases in Douglas County, Kansas.

Lukas Helm, 19 of Olathe, Kansas, and Dane Christensen, 20 of Lenexa, Kansas, surrendered themselves to the Baxter County Sheriff, and are facing 8 felony counts of Breaking or Entering, 5 felony counts of Theft of Property, 1 misdemeanor count of Theft of Property, and 4 misdemeanor counts of Criminal Trespassing.

The final suspect, 19-year-old Macgyver Sabin of Garnder, Kansas, is still currently being sought.
