18-Year-Old Male Fatally Injured In Crash

Salem, MO. – An 18-year-old male was fatally injured in a crash that occurred at 2:29 a.m. on May 27 in Salem, Missouri. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a 16-year-old juvenile was driving westbound on Highway 119 at Highway E when his vehicle suffered a mechanical failure, causing them to travel off Highway 119 from Highway E and into the wood line, striking a tree. 18-year-old passenger Danny Luebbers was pronounced dead on site. The 16-year-old driver and a 15-year-old juvenile passenger received moderate injuries and were transported to Salem Memorial Hospital for treatment.

This is Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I’s 2nd fatality for May and 13th fatality of 2024. 

This crash was investigated by Trooper C.B. Townsend and Major Crash Investigation Unit Sergeant G.D. Ward of Troop I, the Dent County Sheriff’s Office, and the Salem Police Department.
