At 11:21 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, resident Lance Cypret, DOC No. 1403334,
was pronounced dead at South Central Correctional Center medical unit in Licking,
Missouri.
Cypret was a 19-year-old resident serving a 15-year sentence for two counts of first
degree assault– serious physical injury to special victim, two counts of second-degree
assault– serious physical injury of special victim, one count of first-degree assault, one
count of second-degree assaults, two counts of armed criminal action, one count of
arson, three counts of damage to jail property, one count of endangering a correctional
employee by bodily fluid contact, two counts of first-degree robbery from Lawrence
County.
Cypret was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on Nov.6, 2024.
An autopsy will be conducted.
