A Cornucopia of Fall Events in the Ozarks

The first official day of Fall isn’t until September 22nd, but many towns across the Ozarks are already gearing up for the changing seasons with a variety of fall festivals and more taking place over the next month or two.

Cabool FarmFest – September 12th and 13th, celebrating all things local agriculture. This takes place on Canndy Lane in Cabool.

TLR Gun & Knife Show in Mountain Grove – September 13th and 14th. This event features items related to guns, firearms, survival gear, and more. This will happen at the Ozarks Family YMCA in Mountain Grove.

Not Too Shabby Fall Fest in Houston – September 13th, located in Downtown Houston.

17th Annual Birch Tree Loggers Day – September 13th, found in downtown Birch Tree. This event reconizes the local milling industry.

Hootin and Hollarin in Gainesville. – September 18th-20th, A look into the past of the Ozarks, this event is all about the pioneer era traditions that we still see pieces of in the Ozarks. This will happen on the square.

OzSBI’s Business Women’s Expo – September 20th in West Plains. The Ozarks Small Business Incubator will be taking a look at the women-owned businesses in the Ozarks, and how these entreprenuers help keep the region running.

Thomasville Autumn Days – September 20th in Thomasville. This event happened in the evening, and includes a fireworks show in addition to the standard festival fare.

41st Annual HOBA Fall Festival – September 25th – 28th. If you enjoy bluegrass, this event is full of like-minded individuals. Multiple days and nights of bluegrass playing for those of all experience levels. This event takes place at HOBA Park in West Plains.

Mountain View Pioneer Festival – September 27th. This event begins with a ham and bean breakfast in the morning, and includes a wide variety of events and entertainment for locals. This happens on the downtown strip.

Bear City Fall Festival – October 4th. This festival is the biggest event each year in Willow Springs, and the locals really put everything into this fall event.

Pumpkin Fall Festival – October 4th in Mountain Grove. Held at Yarger Farms, this traditional look at fall focuses on fire pits, pumpkins, and family activities.

Mountain View Fall Music Festival – Back to Mountain View on October 4th for the Fall Music Festival, focusing exclusively on local talents playing their music for the public in the same location at the Pioneer Festival.

Baker Creek Fall Harvest Festival – October 5th – 6th. Found in Mansfield, this event is centered around gardening and foraging during the fall season. Address is 2278 Baker Creek Road.

Ozarks Older Iron Club Fall Show – Happening on Canndy Lane in Cabool October 10th and 11th, this show takes the time to look at the heavy machinery and techniques of yesterday in fun ways, giving attendee’s a history lesson in addition to festival fun.

Ozarks Heritage, Old-Time Music Festival – Scheduled for October 17th and 18th, this West Plains event takes place near the Civic Center and celebrates the musical traditions of the Ozarks, while also trying to focus on the talents of today as well.
