A Texas County Traffic Stop Ends With Drug Charges

A Texas County woman is facing multiple charges after a routine traffic stop.  According to a probable cause statement, June 9th  Officer Michael Wehling conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle make a turn without using a turn signal.  It was observed that the taillight was broken.

He asked for license and proof of insurance and the woman stated that the vehicle did not have insurance but provided her license that identified her as Dana Wilder.  Officer Wehling noticed that Wilder was acting very nervous, her hands were shaking, and she wasn’t speaking clearly.  The officer informed her that the vehicle would be towed as it did not have insurance.  Upon inventory a black bag was found that contained a clear crystalline substance in a small baggie consistent with methamphetamine, three hypodermic syringes, two cut straws, and one broken glass smoking devise with burnt residue. He also discovered a women’s nylon stocking that was tied off on one end consistent with the use as a tourniquet. All the syringes appeared new and unused. The crystalline substance in the baggie later tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine using the TruNarc narcotics analyzer.
