An accident Wednesday evening on Highway 60 near Ellsinore has claimed the life of a 45-year-old Alton man.
The accident occurred when a 2012 Ford Focus driven by a 38-year-old Alton man made a left hand turn into the path of a 2017 Ram 1500 driven by a 35-year-old Ellsinore woman.

The 38-year-old Alton man driving sustained serious injuries, three occupants of the Ram 1500 were also injured. A 60-year-old man received moderate injuries a 15 and a 16-year-old female received minor injuries.
They were all transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital for treatment. This was Troop G’s 34th fatality as compared to 27 this time last year.
