After the month of April which saw nearly three times the amount of rainfall (13.95 inches) of the April average (4.50 inches), Howell county ended May with higher than expected totals once again.
According to data from the West Plains Regional Airport at Pomona the total rainfall amount for the month of May at the airport was 6.65 inches. On average we see 4.5 inches of rainfall each year in the month of May. These amounts do vary from place to place in the county with some areas receiving much more than the airport report indicated.
The already wet spring will continue as rainfall is predicted to start late tomorrow, Tuesday June 3rd, and continue through the remainder of the week. In the event of severe weather Ozark Radio Network will keep you posted on warnings.
