Ava, MO. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on November 14th, the events of which ended with the seizure of 91 grams of methamphetamine, and the arrest of a known distributor.
This stop began as members of the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force, comprised of officers from Ozark County and Douglas County Sheriff’s Offices, and the Ava P.D., deployed to serve a search warrant to a residence on Highway 14.
The target of the search, Vincent Adkins, 43 of Ava, left the location in a vehicle. Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase then spotted the vehicle and stopped them, with the search of the vehicle revealing the previously mentioned amount of meth.
Adkins was arrested on a bond of $50,000 cash only, and is suspected of being a major area distributor of drugs since his previous release from prison in August.
