On Saturday, August 30, 2025, at approximately 6:40 PM, Lt. Steve Burgher responded to a disturbance on County Road FF involving neighbors.
The investigation revealed that Eugene Harden confronted a neighbor, alleging that gunfire from a nearby property had struck his residence. During the confrontation, Harden threatened to return fire and later discharged a firearm while driving away.
Lt. Burgher contacted Harden at his residence, where he admitted to firing his Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun from his vehicle toward the property. Harden surrendered the weapon, which was loaded with a full magazine and a round in the chamber.
Eugene Harden has been charged with Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon – Class B Felony. The firearm and ammunition were seized as evidence.
