Charges Filed Against Texas County Man Who Collided with a Deputy

A Texas County man faces multiple charges after a vehicle pursuit in Licking ended in a crash and arrest on January 23, according to a probable cause statement filed by the Texas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Sean Bonner reported seeing Jason Hall driving a gold Lincoln sedan near Main Street and Maple Drive. Hall is known to deputies as having a revoked license. When Bonner attempted a traffic stop, Hall allegedly refused to pull over and fled at high speed through several intersections, ignoring stop signs and traffic signals.

Deputies pursued Hall across Maple Drive, Hartville Road, and State Highway 32 as he drove through grassy areas and behind a water tower before reentering town. The chase continued into an alley off Main Street, where Hall reportedly turned his vehicle around and collided with Deputy Kelly’s patrol car.

Deputies removed Hall from the vehicle and took him into custody. He declined medical treatment and later told deputies he fled because he did not have a driver’s license.
Hall is charged with second-degree assault of a special victim, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, driving while revoked or suspended, and resisting arrest by fleeing and creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death
