With November now officially here, many organizations are preparing for Christmas, and events associated with the holiday will begin as soon as this weekend. Below, we’ve compiled a list of Christmas events happening in the Ozarks, and will continue adding and editing the article as we progress.

Alton
- Alton Christmas Parade. December 7th. “Christmas Night on the Town” will follow.
Cabool
- The Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony for the City of Cabool will take place on Friday, December 6th. This will begin at 6pm. The theme for this parade is “Christmas Movies”.
Doniphan
- Christmas Comes to Doniphan Celebration. 3pm on Saturday, November 30th.
Eminence
- Christmas in Eminence has been scheduled for Saturday, December 7th, beginning at 8am. This will take place around the Shannon County Courhouse. Expect caroling, a chili cook-off, and more.
Houston
- Miss Merry Christmas Pageant. December 7th, 2pm, at the Texas County Fairgrounds Community Building.
- The Houston Christmas Parade has been announced for December 14th at 6pm. The theme for this year is “Magical Christmas Lights”. The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony has been planned for the same day at 6:30pm.
- The Not Too Shabby Christmas Market will take place at 9am to 3pm on Saturday, December 14th. This will happen at Piney River Ford. Live music, food vendors, and pictures of Santa will be available.
Licking
- Christmas in Licking. December 7th, 10am. The parade for the town will begin at 4pm, with the theme “Christmas Treats”.
Mountain Home
- Christmas Festival and Parade. December 6th, beginning at 4pm on the square. At 6pm, the parade is scheduled to begin.
- A Holiday Concert, organized by Mountain Home Symphony. Taking place Sunday, November 24th at 2:30pm. Location is The Sheid at ASUMH. Cost is $10, those 12 and under are free.
Mountain View
- Frosty and Snowflake Christmas Pageant. December 13th, 5:30pm to 7pm. Entry feee for this event is $10. Split into age groups K-8 and 6-12th grade for school-age students, and the adult category.
- The Christmas Parade will take place Saturday, December 14th at 6pm. The parade theme is “Christmas Movies”.
Plato
- Christmas in the County lightshow. December 7th at 5pm, located at Lazy Haze Farms. This event is free to the public.
Thayer/Mammoth Spring
- Both towns will have their Christmas Parade’s on December 7th. For Thayer, it will begin at 2pm at the Thayer School. For Mammoth Spring, the parade will begin at 6pm at the Mammoth Spring School.
Van Buren
- Christmas on the Current. Saturday, December 7th. Begins at 10am at the Carter County Courtyard. Features a holiday market, food trucks and more. The Festival of Lights Parade will follow at 6pm along with a light display later on.
West Plains
- Rock for Tots. November 23rd at 8pm. West Plains Elks Lodge #2418. Cost of admission is a toy. Featured band is Thundershine.
- The Nutcracker by Impact Dance Complex. November 23rd at the West Plains Civic Center.
- Miss Holly Jolly Pageant put on by the Avenue Theatre on Saturday, November 23rd at 10:30am.
- An indoor Christmas Market & Craft Expo will take place November 30th, 9am to 6pm, and December 1st, 10:30am to 4pm at the Heart of the Ozarks Fairgrounds.
- The Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration will take place December 1st at 6pm around the Square.
- Christmas in Cricket County Cafe. A dinner-theater event on December 6th and 7th, 6pm, at the First United Methodist Church, West Plains. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $15 for children 10 and under. A show-only performance will also take place on December 8th at 3pm.
- MSU – West Plains Band Community Concert. December 2nd at 7pm. Will take place at the West Plains Civic Center.
- A Good Ole County Christmas Concert. December 6th and 7th at The Bridge Church, 10105 South Highway 63. Concerts start at 6:30pm. Admission for this concert is 1 unwrapped toy for a child.
- 42nd Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show & Sale. December 7th & 8th at 8:30am and 10am. Located at the West Plains Civic Center. Admission is $3 per day.
- “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Twisted Christmas Carol” stage performances at the Avenue Theatre will take place December 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th at 6:30 PM, and December 8th & 15th at 3pm. Tickets are available at TheAvenueTheatre.org, or at the box office.
- The West Plains Christmas Parade will happen on December 14th, 2024 at 4pm.
- December 14th and 21st, Black Lagoon will host “Photos with Krampus”, a free event to support Christos House Shelter. Donations are accepted, such as hygiene items, or canned goods.
- “A Christmas Carol” stage performances will take place at Dev’s Piano Bar & Grill on Dec 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, 15th. This is put on by West Plains Playhouse.
- Little Mister and Miss Merry Christmas Pageant. December 8th at the West Plains Civic Center at 3pm. Entry is free. Applicant’s must e-mail wp.mrs.claus@gmail.com.
- Christmas Craft Night. December 11th from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Decorate an ornament with and take one home. Takes place at the West Plains Public Library.
- Cookies with the Claus by the Boys and Girls Club. Dec. 14th, 8:30am, at the West Plains Civic Center. Includes multiple activities.
Willow Springs
- Pancakes with Santa and the Grinch will happen at the Willow Springs Lions Club on December 7th. Cost is $6 per person for pancakes and sausage with a drink, and photos can be taken with Santa and the Grinch. Organized by the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce.
- The Let it Glow Light Contest will start on November 29th and end December 13th. Residents upload their pictures to the Chamber of Commerce events page to take part.
- Santa & Friends Downtown will take place on December 7th at the Star Annex, allowing kids to take pictures with various superhero and Christmas figures.
- A Christmas Cookie Decorating Contest will happen on December 7th at Ozark Sweetest Bakeshop from 10am to 2pm. Cost to enter is $10.
- Bears for a Better Christmas Cornhole Tournament. 10am at the Mumford Gymnasium, with a silent auction to take place after. Proceeds from this event go towards the local community to purchase toys, books, and warm clothes for kids. Call for more information at 417-469-3260.
- The Willow Springs Christmas Parade will happen December 7th at 5pm. The theme for this year is “Super Hero’s Christmas”.
