MAMMOTH SPRING – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has temporarily closed public access at Cold Springs Access on the Spring River due to safety concerns and necessary infrastructure repair.
The closure is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice to allow maintenance crews to safely address the issue.
A large scour hole has developed at the end of the boat ramp, causing a severe drop-off that makes launching and retrieving vessels unsafe for the public and poses a risk of vehicle or trailer damage.
Anglers, floaters and other river users are advised to use the Lassiter or Dam #3 access while repairs are underway. The AGFC urges the public to respect all closure signs and construction barricades for their own safety and the efficiency of the repair crews. Updates on the repair timeline will be provided as the work progresses.
