Ozarks Healthcare is proud to welcome Andrea Moyer, MD, FACC, to its Heart and Lung Center as an invasive, noninterventional cardiologist. Moyer brings with her over two decades of specialized experience in cardiovascular care, with a strong background in diagnostic cardiology, echocardiography, and women’s heart health.
Moyer earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at George Washington University Medical Center. She went on to complete a cardiovascular fellowship at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center. She is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
Originally from a rural area in Vermont, Moyer says joining Ozarks Healthcare felt like a natural fit.
“I actually grew up on a dairy farm in rural Vermont, so small towns and close-knit communities like West Plains feel like home to me,” she said. “Ozarks Healthcare feels very personable -it’s not a big corporation. Everyone has been so welcoming.”
Prior to joining Ozarks Healthcare, Moyer served in leadership roles at multiple institutions across Missouri, including as Director of Women’s Cardiology at St. Luke’s Hospital and Medical Director of Noninterventional Cardiology at SSM St. Clare Hospital. Her clinical experience is complemented by a robust history of academic research, professional society involvement, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.
“I enjoy the challenge and complexity of cardiology,” she said. “I’ve always been detail-oriented, and I like spending that extra five minutes with patients to really understand their needs. That time makes a difference – not just in diagnosis, but in building trust.”
