“Drought Persists and Expands Across the Ozarks” says NWS

Despite any precipitation that may have fallen in recent days, overall, conditions have continued to be very dry, and that has caused the drought to expand.

The National Weather Service has released their latest information on the extent of the drought, with D3 “Extreme Drought” now creeping up past Arkansas and into south central Missouri. Worse still, D4 “Exceptional Drought”, the maximum level of drought is present in Izard County.
