West Plains, Mo. – A dump truck driver is being treated at a St. Louis hospital after being involved in a crash on Thursday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route N, five miles north of Missouri 21 in Reynolds County at 7:10 a.m.
A southbound 2021 Freightliner Dump Truck driven by Phillip Nixon, age 52 of Blackwell, Missouri, had ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle was totaled in the crash and Nixon suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Mercy Hospital South St. Louis by Washington County EMS.
