DWI leads to property damage, minor injuries for Summersville man

Eminence, MO – An intoxicated Summersville man was injured in a one vehicle accident on Sunday evening. The accident occurred at 8 p.m. September 26, 2021 on Highway 19 in Eminence. Clinton Mahan, 65 of Summersville, was southbound in a 2012 Chevy 3500 when he ran off the right side of the road and striking several driveway culverts. Mahan then returned to the roadway before traveling off the left side of the road, striking fencing and several trees. The vehicle was totaled.

Mahan had not been wearing a safety device and suffered minor injuries. He was charged with Misdemeanor DWI, Careless and Imprudent Driving Resulting in a Motor Vehicle Crash, No Seat Belt, and Failure to Register Motor Vehicle.

He was released for medical treatment and taken by ambulance to Ozark Healthcare in West Plains.

This accident was investigated by Trooper K. Etherton of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G.
