Eminence, MO – An elderly Eminence man has been killed in a one-vehicle accident in Shannon County.
The accident occurred at 6:08 p.m. October 5, 2021, on College Avenue in Eminence. A 2000 Ford Truck driven by Donald Burrus, 84 of Eminence, had driven off the right side of the roadway and down an embankment, striking several trees. Burrus was pronounced dead at the scene by Shannon County Coroner Sam Murphy at 2 p.m. on October 6, 2021. He was not wearing a safety device.
This is MSHP Troop G’s 24th fatality for 2021 as compared with 30 for the same period in 2020. This accident was investigated by Trooper M. J. Chastain with the assistance of Master Sergeant B. Foster and Trooper N. Frazier of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G.
