DOUGLAS COUNTY, Mo. — A former employee of the Ozarks Trails Academy Youth Home in eastern Douglas County was arrested Dec. 9 after a grand jury returned an indictment alleging sexual offenses involving a minor.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that Johnathan Zimmerman was taken into custody on charges of second-degree child molestation involving a victim under 17, as well as sexual contact with a student. Zimmerman had been employed at the youth home, which houses and provides services for troubled teens.
Sheriff Chris Degase said the arrest followed an investigation led by Detective Long. Degase also thanked agents with the Operation Relentless Pursuit Fugitive Task Force for assisting in locating and apprehending Zimmerman in Howell County.
