HOEC: Friday storms knocked out power to over 1,000 members

Officials at Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative, Inc. (HOEC), report that approximately 1,050 members across their system were without power as a result of storms that moved through the service area on Friday evening. Linemen and cooperative personnel began working immediately to safely restore power to all members.

Damaging high winds were the main cause of outages. High-winds coupled with saturated grounds can cause trees from outside the right of way to fall onto lines. HOEC would like to remind its members to stay away from downed power lines and report them to the cooperative immediately.

All power was safely restored at approximately 11:30 PM. Myles Smith, Manager of Member Services said, “We understand outages are never convenient. We greatly appreciate the patience of our members during the outage.”
