Houston, MO. – A Houston man is facing three felonies and three misdemeanors after fleeing police and causing damage on September 23rd.
The Houston PD state that this took place at around 1:36am. Willie Day, born 1982, was found breaking traction and fleeing the scene of a traffic stop at excessive speeds.
Day failed to maintain the right side of the road as he travelled on Missouri 17, reaching speeds in excess of 90mph in a 30mph zone. Day then continued to drive in this manner until he eventually crashed into Simmons bank, damaging the property and fleeing on foot.
Day was later apprehended and exhibited signs of intoxication, and both alcohol and marijuana paraphernalia were found in his truck. In addition, his license was found to be revoked.
Day was taken into custody and faces felonies Aggravated Fleeing a Stop, Leaving the Scene of Accident – Property Damage Exceeding $1,000, and Driving While Revoked.
Misdemeanors include DWI, Operating a Motor Vehicle In A Careless And Imprudent Manner, Involving An Accident, and Fail To Obey Traffic Control Device.
