Howell Co. reports six new COVID-19 cases, including OCA student

The Howell County Health Department reports an additional six cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to one hundred and eighty-six. Currently, there are twenty-nine known active cases in the county.  Of the twenty-nine cases, one is currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

All six of the new cases reside in the West Plains area. Each case is currently isolating under public health guidance. The investigation into these cases indicates that all six of these cases were community spread, or the source of infection is unknown. There has been one identified exposure to the public to report with these cases. One of the new cases is a student at Ozark Christian Academy in West Plains. The health department is currently working with the administration OCA to identify, notify and quarantine significant exposures to the case.
