The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has officially been awarded the Missouri Blue Shield designation by the Missouri Department of Public Safety, recognizing its outstanding commitment to public safety, crime reduction, and community collaboration.
Established by Governor Mike Kehoe through Executive Order 25-03 in January 2025, the Missouri Blue Shield Program honors communities that demonstrate leadership in law enforcement efforts and invest significantly in public safety infrastructure and initiatives.
“Public safety is the foundation of a thriving community,” said Governor Kehoe. “Howell County’s efforts show what’s possible when local government, law enforcement, and residents work together for a common goal.”
Howell County was selected for the designation based on its active partnerships with the South Central Drug Task Force, participation in Operation Relentless Pursuit, enhanced officer recruitment, increased public safety funding, and its strong collaboration with local stakeholders.
