(This article is an announcement from the Howell County Sheriff’s Office.)
The Howell County Sheriff’s Office is proud to introduce our new Crisis Intervention Specialist, Deputy Cody Voyles.
Cody brings a strong commitment to serving our community with professionalism, compassion, and accountability. What makes this position especially impactful is that Cody is not only trained in crisis intervention, but also serves as a commissioned deputy. This dual role allows him to respond more effectively in critical situations, bridging the gap between Law Enforcement and mental health support.
This position is made possible through grant funding, allowing the Sheriff’s Office to expand services and better meet the growing needs of our community without placing additional burden on local taxpayers. Grant support enables us to invest in specialized training, resources, and personnel dedicated to proactive, service-oriented policing and crisis response.
Having a commissioned deputy in this position ensures that individuals in crisis receive immediate, informed assistance from someone who understands both public safety responsibilities and the importance of de-escalation and care. It also allows for greater coordination on scene, quicker decision-making, and a safer environment for everyone involved.
This program reflects our ongoing commitment to serving Howell County with both strength and compassion. We are confident Cody will be a valuable asset to Howell County, and we look forward to the positive difference he will make in our community!
