Howell County Sherriff’s Office Arrests Absconder for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

Moody, MO– On July 15th the Howell County Sherriff’s Office received a call giving details to the whereabouts of absconder Ronn Baker. The caller stated that he was staying at his grandmother’s house in Moddy and that she would probably not let them in.

A search warrant was requested, obtained and executed. When deputies arrived, the grandmother stated that she knew why they were there, and she knew who called as she had recently made a friend mad. The grandmother allowed officers to come in and Baker was taken into custody without incident.

Baker has failed to register as a sex offender since 2022 and claimed that he did not know he needed to register after he was released from jail in March and the Probation and Parole Office never told him he needed to register.  He was transported to the Howell County Jail with a $5,000 cash or corporate surety bond.
