JOPLIN, Mo. – This fall, if you’re looking for a place to hunt, fish, hike, or enjoy other outdoor activities, look no further than your nearest Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) public use area.
People can learn more about opportunities available at MDC public use areas in the southwest part of the state at the MDC virtual program “Top 10 Series: Conservation Areas in Southwest Missouri.” This free online program, which will be Nov. 3 from 2:30-3:30 p.m., is part of a year-long “Top 10” series of programs being put on by the staff of MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation and Education Center in Joplin. At this program, MDC Administrative Assistant Tim Smith will discuss which MDC public use areas in southwest Missouri are good sites for hunting, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. He will discuss where they are located, regulations for each site, and other details people may need for a successful outing. This program is open to all ages. Though this program is free, registration is required to participate using the link above. Registrants must provide an e-mail, so a program link can be sent to them. This program will include a chat-based question-and-answer period where participants can interact with the presenters.
