Man Wanted on Felony Warrants Arrested After Standoff in Mountain View

Mountain View, MO — A man wanted on multiple felony warrants was arrested early Saturday morning after a brief standoff at a residence in the Mountain View area.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on July 19, Corporal Timothy Gordon and Deputy Trenton Roberts responded to a home where 32-year-old Billy Fisher, the subject of an active protection order, was reportedly hiding. Fisher was barred from being near the residence or its occupants and had several active warrants for violating the order and failing to appear in court.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with residents who stated Fisher was likely hiding in a detached garage behind the home. The residents confirmed that Fisher had been sneaking onto the property and gave deputies full permission to remove him.

While clearing the garage, deputies discovered a small room secured with an exterior padlock and a locked interior doorknob—strongly indicating someone was inside. After issuing multiple verbal commands with no response, Cpl. Gordon deployed K9 “Flash” to assist. The dog alerted to human presence behind the locked door.

Following continued commands and no response, deputies forced entry into the room and found Fisher lying on the floor just inside. He complied with further commands and was taken into custody without incident.

Fisher was transported to the county jail and is facing additional charges related to the protection order violation. No injuries were reported during the arrest.
