Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander announced the arrest of an Oakland woman following an investigation into alleged financial misconduct tied to a local community association.
Misty Treat, 46, of Oakland, was arrested and charged with two counts of theft of property—one a Class C felony and one a Class D felony—along with one count of forgery, a Class C felony.
According to Sheriff Alexander, the investigation began on January 31, 2025, after his office received several complaints involving the Oakland Area Improvement Association (OAIA). The complaints outlined incidents that allegedly occurred between 2021 and 2024.
Deputies arrested Treat and transported her to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, where she was booked into the Marion County Detention Center. She was later released after posting a $2,500 bond.
Treat is scheduled to appear in Marion County Circuit Court on the charges.
